In my own journey, writing my memoir self-help book has been a cathartic experience. It allowed me to dive into the depths of my emotions.  Moreover, I was also able to process the intricate tapestry of my life, and emerge with newfound clarity. One profound insight that has shaped my understanding of self is from the book “Whole Again,” which delves into the concept of the protective self. This part of us, born out of survival mechanisms, shields us from the potential pain of our past. However, it can inadvertently act as a barrier, preventing us from noticing and experiencing the abundance already surrounding us.

It imposed unrealistic pressure to succeed in a singular way.  This limited my perception of the multitude of successes and joys available to me. The key revelation lies in understanding that true success encompasses a spectrum of achievements and fulfillment, not confined to a narrow definition.

Shifting the focus from what we don’t want to what we desire is an empowering act of self-love. It’s about rewriting our narrative and embracing the limitless potential that resides within. The journey of healing is not about erasing the past; it’s about reframing our relationship with it, fostering resilience, and using our experiences as stepping stones toward a brighter future.
